On May 12, the first delegate of the European Observation Mission arrived in Caldas, Colombia to learn about the processes of the Telemedicine Route of the University of Caldas.
The Telemedicine Route is a mobile health project that brings specialized care and now vaccination against COVID to remote areas. This initiative is carried out thanks to the support of the Government of Caldas, the Territorial Directorate of Health of Caldas, the University of Caldas and local health services.
On Wednesday, May 12, the Telemedicine Route began in the village of La Esperanza, in the municipality of Victoria in Caldas. "They come to join us on each Telemedicine route to be able to make an observation of each process and the telemedicine that we are offering in the department. It is a collaboration that has been working for many years and today we receive it so that this accompaniment bears fruit not only in Colombia, but trans continentally," explained Esteban Granada, director of Telesalud.
Likewise, Natalia Osorio, delegate of the European Observation Mission, explained that next week the other members of this international mission will arrive to learn about the Telehealth process in more rural municipalities.
These mobile health days provide the population with access to specialized care in internal medicine, psychiatry, nutrition, pediatrics and assessment for the detection of congenital heart disease, in addition to free care in general medicine and psychology for the entire population of Colombia through WhatsApp at the number 323 474 6101.
