Costa Rican Government trains older adults to use the Single Digital Health Record (EDUS) from their cell phone

It is now easier to access information concerning the health status of any person through a virtual system that collects data electronically and builds a safe and reliable medical history.

Costa Rica promoted actions based on its public policies to advise users on how to handle the new technologies provided by Digital Health.

The Single Digital Health Record (Edus) is considered a project that transfers all patients' medical records to digital format, such as their medical information, their consultations, their illnesses and other data that generate a more complete picture of the condition of health of the person.

The EDUS, is a set of applications and services, developed by the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), which allows to manage and automate the clinical care provided in the different health centers of the country.

Being digital, it will only take any electronic device to access the times that are required, from any place and without having to re-enter the information, since it must only be registered once to store; At the same time the risk of deleting or losing the data necessary for future consultation is minimized.

In order to do so, a campaign aimed at older adults was initiated to learn how to download the application and navigate its interface in order to identify the sections that allow you to manage your appointments, see the date, have in the palm of your hand Prescribed medications, among other options.

This is expected to take the first steps in the process of acquiring the users to make them true users of the technological solutions provided.
