DHIS2 presents its annual conference on healthcare innovation developers

The DHIS2 Annual Conference, one of the world's leading health information management software, will be held from June 21-25.

DHIS2 (District Health Information Software 2) is an information management software used in more than 60 countries, in its beginning it was developed in South Africa, however, now they have the support of the University of Oslo in Norway, which has allowed it to remain a free and open-source software. Through the annual digital conference, they seek to boost and recognize the global impact that digital innovation technologies have had over the past year.

"The DHIS2 Annual Conference is our biggest yearly event, and provides an opportunity for the global DHIS2 community — a diverse group including implementers, developers, ministry representatives, technical partners, donors, and other DHIS2 experts from around the world — to meet and share experiences," DHIS2 explained in their official announcement.

Through five days of conferences, DHIS2 will provide information on the latest developments and innovations in health and promote partnerships between participants, associations and other organizations.

Last year, more than 100 countries and 200 organizations participated, as well as 57 ministries of health. Forty sessions were held over the four-day event.

Invited speakers are from national ministries of health, public health partners such as the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), among others.

The event is also focused on recognizing the best independent developers, through the annual contest for the best independent Android and web application. Likewise, through an open call for submissions, public health and innovation proposals were encouraged.
