U.S. Government launches vaccine finder website

On May 1, the U.S. government will launch the Find a Vaccination site to make it easier to access and find immunization sites.

President Joe Biden, announced the creation of a website to find vaccination sites and centers, further explained that the government is seeking to make all adults eligible for the vaccination process as early as May, with the goal of reaching normalcy by July 4.

By May 1, COVID-19 vaccines will be available at more vaccination centers as all adults will be eligible for vaccination from that day. “That’s much earlier than expected. Now let me be clear, that doesn’t mean everyone’s going to have that shot immediately, but it means you’ll be able to get in line beginning May 1”, Biden explained.

In this way the specialized website will show the locations of these centers according to the user's location. On the other hand, the federal government will provide support and technical assistance to state governments to improve the websites used to schedule vaccination appointments. “At the time when every adult is eligible in May, we will launch, with our partners, new tools to make it easier for you to find the vaccine and where to get the shot, including a new website that will help you find a place to get vaccinated and the one nearest you”, the US president explained in his message.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will launch a website to support individuals seeking to register as volunteers for vaccine administration. Currently, professionals such as emergency physicians, midwives, optometrists, paramedics, veterinarians, podiatrists, even medical and nursing students, among others, are qualified.

The U.S. administration seeks to maintain a pace of more than 2 million shots per day, in order to reach the July 4 goal.
