Public hospitals in Bogota will implement a unified interoperability system that will connect clinical information for patients.
Following an agreement between a Spanish multinational company and the Ministry of Health of Bogota, a unified interoperability system will be implemented with a better and faster care for the population.
The purpose of this system is to centralize all information related to medical reports, laboratory results, medication and management history in the 22 registered hospitals in the strategy, according to the Mayor of Bogotá.
The Ministry of Health said the system will provide real-time access to medical reports and even medical records or allergies, which will help improve the decision-making and provide the right patient care, as well as reduce time and expenses in administrative procedures.
With this project Colombia is consolidated in Digital Health development in its health system, and joins other projects such as the Electronic Health Record nationwide.
