Mexico begins to speed up its procedures related to medical care through a mobile app that will schedule appointments and consult clinical information without wasting much time.
The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is updating its health care systems with the purpose of complying with the guidelines that Digital Health is imposing in Latin America.
That is why they launched their own digital mobile application so that registered beneficiaries can access a web portal and can request services such as medical appointments, prescriptions, among others, online.
In order to make use of the DIGITAL IMSS, one must only enter one’s CURP and an email to be able to navigate through an accessible software that allows you to perform several procedures.
For example, there are three sections: Location (to identify the nearest Family Medicine Unit), Procedure (check social security number or make modifications) and Health (to schedule medical appointments).
With this tool, the Mexican public health system seeks to reduce the waiting and transfer times that users currently have to do each time they attend the IMSS. With a single click you can perform the movement that, physically, would take hours.
Another way to enter IMSS Digital is through the web portal www.imss.gob.mx, where you can also access other areas where general information is provided on both health, benefits that are provided by law to users and How to access them.
