Hospital in Brazil develops app that takes care of patients with heart problems

In this app, the patient can add the profile of their medicines and assign reminders at the right time to remember the ingestion.

With the aim of fight heart conditions, the Samaritan Higienópolis Hospital has launched a digital app that helps monitoring clinical cases and provide statistics on the consumption of medications to treat these situations.

The purpose of this application is to ensure that their patients take the appropriate substances to prevent heart attacks or hypertension and convince them of their contribution to the improvement of their condition.

According to a study carried out by hospital scientists, there has been a 15% increase in the acceptance and follow-up of taking medications, these indicators are expected to improve the quality of life of each patient.

Leandro Rubio, cardiology coordinator, said that “technology is used to improve patient’s quality of life, certainly the digital and the health world have never been so close, and have been used for such a relevant outcome: improve people lives”.

According to an analysis, the use of the appropriate medications reduces the risk of heart attack by 20%, the app installed on each patient’s mobile device will informs them of the time to take certain doses.

The use of digital devices such as smartphones and tablets allow to concentrate more information and make better practices to treat and control cardiac affections, since Digital Health provides patient support elements..
