Amazon expands its offer in Digital Health systems

Amazon has acquired special agreements with other companies with the objective of carrying out online Digital Health projects that are available on any digital platform regardless of time and place.

Amazon tries to exceed expectations and remain at the forefront of technology from its Digital Health systems aimed at improving the quality of public health services.

Through various alliances with other companies, it has managed to create software to optimize medical care in all areas of the United States.

Haven, the Amazon Carestrategy system, saves resources so patients can have equitable and comprehensive access to primary care services, reduces waiting times for clinical appointments and makes available any medication, so that no treatment runs out tracing.

A second acquisition of the Amazonconsists of Health Navigator; It is responsible for detecting symptoms to prevent and treat potential cases of risk in specific diseases detected in the user, this is achieved thanks to the integrated algorithms that analyze and abstract clear samples with defined frequencies. In addition, it is linked to the British National Health System (NHS) so users can receive remote consultations through telemedicine and have advice and medication available from an external server for their comfort and financial support.

Artificial Intelligence as support

Amazon is strengthening its systems with the objective of embedding them towards the practice of Digital Health, by using the facilities that the new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) allow.

Through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Amazon decided to join the British National Health Service (NHS) to guide users through ALEXA (personal voice assistant) about their health care.

The mechanism works as follows: Alexa records - through programmed algorithms - the questions that patients request and when they are stored in their database, access the official NHS website to select the appropriate information and answer.

In this way, the data provided will be supported by an official agency and can be used to reinforce the way in which people are checked to prevent and treat different diseases and conditions.

The cloud and intermediaries

In addition to computing mechanisms, Amazon uses digital platforms to store information and connect with providers that serve as intermediaries between health centers and the patient.

One of the most promising methods is the digital pharmacy, in which they seek to collect all the data of the medications available to set up a library where the user can request any medication.

Through the medical history and prescriptions in digital format, patients can select the medication needed for their treatment and buy it online without the need to go to the pharmacy directly.

The pharmacy will receive the purchase and will have the medicine ready when the user comes to pick it up or even transfer it to their home through a delivery service.

The strengthening of these applications will result in a high degree of improvement in the quality of health services, as mechanisms such as telemedicine and remote and real-time teleconsultations can be enjoyed.
