Peru: App to get medical appointments will benefit more than 3 million people in Lima

As a measure to reduce the inconveniences of attending to schedule an appointment, the Peruvian government developed a mobile app available on Android and IOS to schedule appointments directly from the platform and in time to benefit citizens.

Peru joins the Digital Health exercise that is innovating in Latin America in order to obtain quality and accuracy results in public health systems.

Inside Cayetano Heredia Hospital, the use of a mobile application was implemented to schedule medical appointments.

With "Citas HCH" app, users will avoid long lines by simply downloading the app on their mobile phones, entering its interface, registering by providing personal information and setting aside the date and time of their next doctor's appointment.

This strategy was developed by the Ministry of Health as part of the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) and its general director, Aida Palacios, who emphasized that "more than three million inhabitants of the districts of Lima Norte will benefit from the early hours, to our hospital to get a doctor's appointment." In addition, "this application responds to the actions we implement in order to improve access to health services and specialized care".

The SIS is an important support for public policies that the Peruvian government offers to comprehensively meet the needs of the most vulnerable population by applying low costs and free services in order to take care of their health and increasing the quality of life in the country.

Digitally generated appointments will be easily recorded by selected hospitals and health centers in order to speed-up medical care and the previous processes that need to be performed.
