Travel recommendations to prevent COVID-19 infection from Airports Council International available on mobile maps application

Airports Council International (ACI) announced that global measures to prevent COVID-19 contagion will now be available on the Apple Maps app.

Through the default maps application on Apple smartphones, it will be easier for travelers to get the information they need to take care of themselves during their stay at international airports.

Additionally, the ACI has enabled the Health Measures web portal (https://api.acris.aero/homepage/), so airports can update the information about the current health measures. In the applications developed by the ACI, such as Check & Fly, it is possible to consult detailed information on the health measures in force at the world's airports: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/check-fly/id1520489875. Through this application, passports can keep in contact with the authorities of the airport where they are traveling to know the updated measures.

ACI also created a web version of Check &Fly, in which the traveler can search for the airports where he/she is going to travel to learn about the pre-trip, in-travel and post-trip measures that must be taken and complied with at the airports. The tool is available at the following link:

“The recovery of air travel will rely on passenger confidence in the industry’s focus on their health and welfare,” said ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira. He also explained the importance of airport users being able to more easily access crucial information. “This will help passengers to plan their journeys and be reassured that their health and safety remains a priority for the industry as we all work towards a sustained return to operations and global connectivity”.
