The use of pedometers reduces disease risk

The following study refers to the situation that people live according to the average of their physical activity per day and how digital platforms contribute to establish action plans that modify bad habits and reinforce collective health.

Physical activity within people's daily routine is a factor that protects their quality of life and, therefore, their health; That is why plos medicineconducted a study to measure the advantages of using pedometers that monitor the physical condition of individuals.

Pedometers are portable electronic devices that count the steps taken on a certain route to measure distances and performance.

In this investigation, the Pace Up and Pace Lift platforms were used to analyze and collect statistics based on a selected group of people to define the health and well-being situation that is lived daily.

Depending on factors and indicators such as age, sex and clinical history, it was concluded that those with a more sedentary life tend to have the risk of suffering from conditions such as diabetes, fractures, heart attacks or cardiovascular problems.

This is because, since they do not have a rhythm of activity that includes constant movement, the biological processes do not maintain a constant circulation, which causes the organism to be more vulnerable to diseases in the long run.

The objective of this work is to have an impact on the awareness so that, with the data and results that the pedometers provide, the public health services and the patients themselves begin to have a more active way of life through exercises and constant monitoring. to prevent morbidity and mortality rates, this improving the habits of communities in the simplest way and demonstrating the scope and benefits that are obtained to promote constant participation and monitoring.
