The province of Chumbivilcas in the department of Cusco will receive the installation of pre-hospital care and telehealth services. This project is part of the integrated health networks being carried out in the province of Cusco.
This project is directed by the National Health Investment Program (Pronis) belonging to the Ministry of Health and seeks to provide new equipment to hospitals and health facilities in the Santos Tomás and Livitaca micro-networks.
In this way, telehealth consultation services will be installed in four health establishments: Livitaca, Velille, Capacmarca and Colquemarca; and in two hospitals whose professionals will carry out consultations in Santo Tomás and the Regional Hospital of Cusco in the capital of the department.
This project seeks to benefit more than 82 thousand Cusqueños and will have an investment of 7.1 million soles. In addition, the project includes support for the training of medical personnel and the purchase of six ambulances and six vans for the aforementioned health centers.
Pronis explained that telehealth will allow primary care centers to interconnect with hospitals and specialized institutes to increase access to health services in the department.
The offer of remote health services through digital technologies and internet has grown during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the adoption of the population to the use and acceptance of this type of services.
