The Centenario Hospital Miguel Hidalgo (CHMH), developed a remote medical care program for severely ill patients recovered from COVID-19, which lasted 14 months.
The CHMH Telehealth program was part of the Emergency Department and provided medical care and support to patients recovered from COVID-19 through teleconsultation, telephone or video call. The team of professionals integrated for the achievement of this program was formed by professionals in psychology, physical rehabilitation, nutrition and general medicine.
Armando Ramirez Loza, director of the hospital located in the city of Aguascalientes, informed that during the length of this special strategy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were able to attend 1,083 patients.
Ricardo Cruz Silva, head of the hospital's Emergency Department and coordinator of the telehealth program, explained that the more than 1,000 patients attended were provided with 32,874 physical and pulmonary rehabilitation, psychological therapy sessions and clinical nutrition.
Cruz Silva also explained that, although the program has ended, if any recovered patient requests this kind of remote care, the telehealth services will be available to them.
