Telehealth University of Caldas, in conjunction with the University Health Service Provider Institutions (IPS) launched a program in mental health care.

Mental health care has taken on great relevance, given the increase in psychological disorders since the beginning of the pandemic. In this sense, the IPS Universitaria and Telesalud Caldas announced the start-up of a new comprehensive mental health care project. The service will be free for people in Colombia or for Colombians abroad.

"We remain committed to the mental health of the population, today we launched a pioneering program in Colombia and Latin America so that the entire population can access any mental health service free of charge," explained Esteban Granada Aguirre, director of Telehealth.

The program will have comprehensive services in mental health care such as: Initial psychological care; follow-up care according to each case; psychiatric care; and a training program for the community.

This last service will offer tools for patients to better understand their personality, emotional management and other aspects related to healthy family life, relationship building and psychological first aid.

In this sense, any person in Colombia, regardless of their affiliation to a subsidized scheme or to another IPS, will be able to access this comprehensive service, which aims to facilitate access to mental health care.
