Secretary of Health in Hidalgo presents the Diploma in New Digital Skills and Telehealth

The Hidalgo Health Secretariat (SSH) will train medical professionals in new digital technologies and tools such as telemedicine.

The telemedicine program of the state of Hidalgo, was implemented in 2017, which has favored remote medical care in rural areas and the training of hundreds of health professionals in the entity. On this occasion, the SSH has launched the Diploma in New Digital Skills and Telehealth.

The topics of the diploma are the following:

  • Digital Health
  • Equipment models in telehealth
  • Telemedicine and quality of care
  • Legislation and Bioethics in telehealth
  • Implementation of telemedicine in Hidalgo, Mexico and Latin America
  • Practical activities

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the SSH opted to add more health centers to the State Telemedicine Network, as well as more specialties in remote medical care. For example, the teleradiology service operates in 16 state hospitals through interconsultations with specialists.

In this sense, the state government continues to promote remote medical care, which is why they seek the training of more professionals to close the digital gap and break paradigms in the adoption of digital technologies in medical practice.

The director of Telehealth at the National Center for Technological Excellence in Health of the Federal Government Health Secretariat (CENETEC), Adrián Pacheco, recognized the work carried out by the Hidalgo authorities and the achievements achieved in recent years.

The subjects of the course will be taught by academics and specialists in telemedicine and new technologies from states such as Chihuahua, Nuevo León and even from countries such as Peru, Colombia and Uruguay, which have large Digital Health projects and agendas.
