The Ministry of Health of Argentina prepared a document of good practices for teleconsultation, to normalize and standardize quality practices in telemedicine.
The National Directorate for Coverage Integration, belonging to the Undersecretariat for Integration of Health Systems and Primary Care, in collaboration with the National Directorate for Quality in Health Services and Sanitary Regulation, published the good practice guide aimed at health professionals. health who are interested or perform care through information technology.
The document seeks to promote telemedicine at the federal level in the 24 jurisdictions in public and private institutions in the country. "The need to continue working as a team, to reduce the gaps in access to the health system and the importance of using this modality to do so," explained Javier Turienzo, national director of Coverage Integration.
Likewise, the national director of Quality and Health Regulation, Claudio Ortiz, highlighted the need to incorporate digital tools that promote the quality of health interventions and that are also aligned with the National Plan for Quality in Health 2021-2023.
The general objective of the document is "to establish a baseline of Good Practices linked to the mode of provision of health services through information and communication technologies, carried out by health teams, to strengthen the safety of the processes, their development and the protection of rights”.
As for the specific objectives, it seeks to promote a culture of safety in telemedicine and spread the practices of humanization and feedback of telemedicine, among others.
The document addresses definitions, basic aspects of the implementation of telemedicine and teleconsultation programs, basic elements of the process and good practices in relation to the process.
