The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) announced the launch of the first virtual library that contains the products and research carried out by its Collaborating Centers (CCs).
PAHO CCs are organizations such as universities, laboratories, research centers, hospitals, ministries, among other institutions, that carry out activities to promote PAHO programs.
All PAHO CCs have specific tasks depending on their area of specialty, they provide courses, training, provide technical advice and develop informative or research products for data analysis and information dissemination. In this sense, the products developed by the CCs are available in the new virtual library.
PAHO currently has the following Departments that present specific CCs for their regions:
- Department of Communicable Diseases and Environmental Determinants of Health.
- Department of Evidence and Intelligence for Action in Health, which has the CC on knowledge management and the CC on electronic health, which develop products based on Digital Health.
- Department of Family, Health Promotion and Life Course.
- Department of Health Systems and Services.
- Department of Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health.
- Department of Health Emergencies.
The library features web-based products, training strategies, reports, scientific publications, and more.
For example, the PAHO/WHO CC on eHealth has products on IS4H frameworks or training such as eHealth for managers and decision makers.
