The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), in Tlaxcala, began in August to carry out remote consultations by telemedicine for its beneficiaries.
The person in charge of the Headquarters of Medical Benefits of the IMSS in Tlaxcala, Fernando Moncada Jiménez, announced the start of Family Medical Care online for the beneficiaries in Tlaxcala. The Digital Medical Consultations program aims to bring health services closer to users of IMSS services who live with chronic diseases, have limitations to attend a face-to-face consultation or who require remote monitoring due to COVID-19.
The Digital Medical Consultation is carried out through Microsoft Teams, so users are asked to download it on their cell phones, tablets or mobile phones. The app is available for free on Google Play and the App Store.
This medical appointment is only available in the Family Medical Units (FMU) and to schedule one it is necessary to meet the following requirements:
- curp
- SSN (Social Security Number)
- Personal email
- Be valid in the IMSS
Enter this data in the IMSS Digital application, also available for free in the aforementioned application stores. After entering the data, check your email: “where you will find an email with the name of 'digital consultation', there you will find a link that you must enter in the Microsoft Teams application, in order to join the meeting, by clicking on 'join now', and thus be able to start with your medical consultation. At the end of the consultation, you must click on the image of the telephone handset to end the call”, explained Moncada Jiménez.
The head of the IMSS Medical Benefits Headquarters in Tlaxcala explained that it is an easy and useful process to avoid transfers and continue to respect health measures to avoid COVID-19 infections. "It is very easy now to have a Family Medicine consultation, without leaving home and if allowed, it can be from a team at the work center or office," he concluded.
