Latin America promotes Electronic Health Record (EHR)

5G Americas presented a case study related to a Latin American network for EHR with the purpose of exchanging knowledge, systems and tools between countries, developed by internet connection.

Today, practices previously being done are progressing and refining to save resources and reduce margins of error.

Thanks to the constant development of new technologies it is now possible to issue the Electronic Health Record. This means that the patient, instead of describing their sufferings multiple times to each doctor, will now be able to dictate their symptoms for one time and record their clinical history on a digital platform that will store their data permanently and that may be subject to any health center or hospital.

Inside the report entitled "EHR in Latin America", carried out by 5G Americas, the format of this electronic register will provide more agility and reduce the access gap so that it can be consulted without problems in any situation. Information about each treatment, case and a general patient history will also be detailed.

Being listed as a robust transaction system, the Electronic Health Record consists of configurations that require strong and fast connectivity and, which only the public policies of each government can grant to take advantage of the benefits it offers.

There must be the right infrastructure for the software to work by protecting the person's data and exchanging that information with a fluidity that allows for immediate and accurate results.

The network will be subject to broadband availability in order to redirect all necessary information between clinics or hospitals in order to assess the medical situation of each patient.

Latin America becomes over time as a reference, worldwide, in the development offered by Digital Health with its tools based on new technologies.
