Argentine university offers diploma in Digital Health

The course consists of 180 hours divided into nine sessions from August to December.

The Faculty of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Misiones (Ucami) is now offering the Diploma in Telemedicine and Digital Health in virtual mode.

It is intended for health professionals who have care activities, such as doctors, psychologists, nutritionists and nurses, computer professionals and health professionals in general.

These types of activities have benefits in the professional training, of those involved in topics about telemedicine and digital health, and who know the new forms of health management. One of the objectives set by Ucami is: "To create a space for theoretical, instrumental and attitudinal training aimed at updating knowledge and practices that articulate medicine and digital technologies".

The team of expert teachers has external guests, specialized in Information Systems, Health Informatics and Biomedical Informatics. The contents divided into nine modules to be studied from August to December carry the following titles:

  • Introduction to Telemedicine.
  • General Aspects in Digital Health and Information Systems
  • Telehealth and Telemedicine. Fundamentals
  • Technologies for Telehealth and Telemedicine
  • Regulations on Telemedicine and Digital Health
  • Use cases in Argentina. Experiences in Telemedicine and Digital Health
  • Project Management in Telemedicine and Digital Health
  • Workshop on the use of Telemedicine in the Outpatient Area

 

To finish with an exhibition where the final works are presented. Each of the eight modules has different approaches, starting with a contextualization of concepts and history, up to more technical topics such as the current regulations in Argentina and the networks and devices available for the exercise of telemedicine.
