The government of the city of Rio Grande, capital of Tierra del Fuego, in collaboration with the National Ministry of Health, implemented the TeleCovid program, as well as the Mental Health Network.
The Secretary of Health of the Municipality of Rio Grande in the province of Tierra del Fuego, in southern Brazil, established a collaboration with the Ministry of Health to remotely follow up on suspected cases of COIVD-19. The follow-up did not only include the adult population, but also followed up on children in the same way.
The head of telemedicine of the municipality of Rio Grande, recognized the importance of tele-health in the current context, in which they managed to connect and approach patients despite the distance. “Telehealth opens up many possibilities in care,” she concluded.
In addition to the management carried out for remote pediatric care, which were developed in conjunction with Dr. Padinger and Croce, also one of the achievements was the creation of the Mental Health Network, which will connect patients with specialists from the Laura Bonaparte National Hospital in Buenos Aires, “in this context of pandemic, the need for attention in the field of mental health was shown to be a priority, and the professionals in Rio Grande were not able to give the necessary response, for this reason we worked on this agreement to, through Telemedicine, form a work team in which professionals from this Hospital that is in Buenos Aires and is a reference in Mental Health and Addictions, are part of it,” explained Maneiro.
