The Ministry of Health of Paraguay launched smartphone app "Libreta Adolescente".
The The Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare of Paraguay in relation to the Paraguay International Plan, launched the mobile application "Libreta Adolescente",a manual focused on health care for young people who are in the stage of adolescence. Previously, it was distributed only in print mode, however, it was not possible to cover the total population of the country because it was only granted in health posts.
At this time, to get the app they will only need to have a mobile with Android operating system and download from the Play Store. It seeks to provide young people with better access to information on health care and their rights through Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Like the printed version, the digital teen notebook is divided into two: for men and for women. Through 17 chapters, rights and recommendations are addressed to promote comprehensive and optimal health. It covers various adolescent approaches and areas; so, the user will be able to make better decisions and have a clearer and broader picture of their situation at this stage of growth.
Within the manual you can find the following spaces:
- Key messages
- Rights
- Adolescence
- Life project
- Speaking of sexuality
- Contraceptive methods
- Acne
- Personal hygiene
- Nutrition
- Physical activity
- Mental health
- Accident prevention

This work is carried out within the National Health Project for the strengthening of Primary Care promoted and supported by the Ministry of Public Health and the National DECIDIR Project of the Paraguayan International Plan.
