Use of Digital Platforms
The launching of the Digital Platform for Maternal and Child Health in Guerrero, Mexico

It is part of the strategies of IMSS (Mexican Institute of Social Security), for the benefit of maternal health to provide better care in health services.

The IMSS BIENESTAR Program in Guerrero annually serves more than 1,200 thousand pregnant women through 19 Rural Medical Units, 1 Rural Hospital, 4 Obstetric Rural Care Centers and 26 Mobile Medical Units. In addition, as part of the Community Care Programme, there are 80 traditional midwives linked to that programme.

In this context, the collaboration between IMSS BIENESTAR and Carlos Slim Foundation will benefit health professionals with continuous academic scholarships to study free of charge and without the need for the internet the Diploma in Maternal and Child Health, landed at the first level of care with national and international best practices, has a comprehensive approach to the most frequent problems , of greater magnitude and relevance in our population; It also assists in the organization of community care and participation networks around pregnant women to prevent complications during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.

Another component of the Digital Platform for Maternal Health is MIDO Pregnancy (Integrated Measurement for Timely Pregnancy Detection), a system that makes it easier for nurses to identify the main risk factors that endanger women's lives during pregnancy, including: adequate pregnancy weight gain, pregestational and gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, HIV-Syphilis, and urinary tract infection.

Therefore, nursing professionals received a scholarship to accredit themselves as MIDO EMBARAZO Experts and so standardize the processes for timely identification through a MIDO Module and a Backpack called portable MIDO that facilitates the intentional search of high-risk pregnant women in the community and who will be in operation in the state hospitals.

In addition, traditional midwives will receive a unit of work for clean childbirth care and provide better prenatal care in the community. This backpack has 32 components, from instruments to consumables.
