VeriFLY, is a mobile application that contains data about the health of travelers, so they can confirm that they are free of COVID-19 and thus be able to move more safely.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, transportation service providers such as airlines have sought mechanisms and alternatives to verify and validate that their passengers are free from COVID-19 infection. The governments of some countries have decreed rules for foreign travelers at the time of entry into their territory, this to avoid infections and outbreaks from imported cases.
American Airlines has already begun taking measures to prevent COVID-19 in its country. Now they will do the same in Chile, by allowing access to their VeriFLY application, a mobile application specially designed for airline users to confirm the information and documentation required in relation to the sanitary measures imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline participates in a program called LetsGetChecked, which provides self-administered PCR tests for COVID-19.
This way, in the United States, passengers can order self-administered tests at home, for safe travel, or in some cases to meet requirements. The airline explained that the application will help provide a safer experience for users.
In Chile there are a number of requirements for non-resident foreign travelers when entering the country, and one of them is a negative PCR test. In response to these requirements, the airline has begun to implement its VeriFLY application and conduct home sampling. In this way, people traveling to Chile and using this airline will be able to have tests at home to confirm their negative COVID-19 status and be able to make their trip.
In view of the reopening of activities and businesses, private companies have started to develop alternatives based on digital technologies to avoid contagion.
