Colombia is ready to advance in digital health and thus reduce the internet access gap and new technologies in Latin America. Thus, improved health services and systems will cover virtually the entire population.
Cartagena hosted the International Telecommunications Congress, where the latest and most important advances in technological development in the field of medicine through Digital Health will be presented.
The Minister of Telecommunications and the Information Society, Andrés Michelena, presented the Comprehensive Digital Health System project that is part of the Plans of the World Health Organization (WHO) to be able to empower citizens with a narrower gap in access to internet systems and thus manage information about their health status anywhere and at any time.
In turn, the Digital Ecuador, which plans to offer all the benefits of ICT to all people regardless of their socio-economic situation; through government and public policy, equip equipment and platforms to expand opportunities for access to good medical treatment, disease prevention and monitoring at a speed that only new networking networks can offer.
This plan, conducted by the Ministry of Health, is trying to reduce the gap and provide equity to beneficiaries through programs, activities and training around the management of new technologies and the possibilities they offer on a large scale.
To end this situation, attention to rural and isolated areas are promoted to transmit the necessary elements and can be included in the immersion of the telecommunications ecosystem working through the network and the cloud.

One of the initiatives that lead to the entrust of meeting quality standards within institutions that manage information digitally is the Health Level Seven (HL7).
The design promotes the use of digital prescription and electronic health record and that they are stored in a virtual space that transits the network without difficulties to be downloaded from any server.
