The implementation of the Electronic Clinical Record is accelerated thanks to 5G

In Latin America, it is expected that with the new 5G technology that will soon start operating around the world, the health sector will be strengthened by relying on its digital tools as is the case with the Electronic Clinical Record.

5G technology is about to be implemented, which means that Digital Health services in Latin America will have to migrate to this new solution to maximize the processes that have left traditional methods behind and are already achieved through technological immediacy.

The vice president of the organization Latin America and the Caribbean of 5G Americas, José Otero, mentioned that this new facility will contribute his grain of sand for the use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and with this to expand to more regions with a massive reception, which facilitates access to the patient's medical information in a shorter time.

To achieve this goal, new public policies will need to be generated that provide sufficient facilities for the development of the new wireless network and is a plus for the development of society and public health services.

The agency also conducted the study "Electronic Health Record in Latin America" which showed that medical records recorded in each health center will have to comply with quality guidelines and regulations that allow this tool to be disseminated to laboratories, pharmacies and universities.

"Mobile and wireless broadband because of its conditions allows massive access to EHR systems, as well as their inclusion to a greater number of health centers. That enhances the benefits of telehealth," said the company's vice president.

The new 5G network will radically transform health services, enabling rapid connectivity between machines and their operators, reducing the time and distance to consult the required information.

The storage, access and analysis of data are gathered in a single space thanks to the Internet of Things and, in this sense, 5G technology will allow to keep a large number of devices connected at the same time and sending elements constantly in real time, thus overcoming the obstacles that generate the fall of networks by the oversaturation of information.

Heavy files can also be sent in a short space of time and medical databases immediately accessed.

An example of 5G capacity

From Hubei Province, China, remote gallbladder surgery was performed using 5G wireless technology. He addressed the Surgeons of Taihe Hospital located 125 miles away to perform the operation, in which no network delay was presented for the live broadcast of the operation.

This sets a standard for health-focused digital systems in Latin America to take advantage of the benefits and advantages of this new speed capability, and as a result the transmission of images and videos can be clearly appreciated.
