Argentine Ministry of Health offers webinar "Telehealth and Congenital Cardiopathy Network: New Challenges"

Health authorities recognized the work done by the Congenital Cardiopathy Network and emphasized the benefits of modalities offered by telemedicine and telehealth

The Argentine Ministry of Health held a webinar on “Telehealth and Network of Congenital Heart Disease: New Challenges”, which virtually brought together health authorities, hospital staff and specialists on the subject.

Martín Sabignoso, Secretary of Equity in Health, spoke about expanding funds to hospitals belonging to the Federal Network of Congenital Heart disease: “We are working since the beginning of the year to revitalize the Federal Network of Congenital Heart Disease that funds the SUM program and that guarantees the integral care of this pathology for the whole population without social work”.

Among this funding support is the telemedicine project that seeks to provide remote services to patients born with congenital heart disease and also to achieve early diagnoses: “We now have another tool, which is telemedicine to be able to remotely monitor patients, monitoring them remotely, strengthening the response of the Federal Network of Cardiopathies”.

Sabignoso endorsed the important role of telemedicine as a new modality in the provision of services that allows for greater efficiency and equity. Telehealth is also a demonstration of progress, and we manage to improve technology, for example, in something very complex, because we managed to see the images moving."

Finally, during her turn at the head of the exhibition, the head of Child Cardiology at Castro Rendón Hospital in Neuquén, Alejandra Farrell, expressed about the Network and the benefits of its association with telemedicine “it strengthened the diagnostic and referral network, allowing a better knowledge of the patients of the province”, in addition recognized the work carried out during the pandemic in telecare : “no surgeries shifts were suspended and the continuity of remote assistance controls was maintained, avoiding unnecessary circulation”.
