InThe Chronic Disease Information System has been implemented in Carlos Slim Foundation We seek that the solutions we develop are implemented through person-centered care models, in order to serve and impact the most vulnerable population in Mexico and Latin America, so that more people live longer and better.
On the other hand, the development cycle considers the cost-efficient and effective use of digital tools, instruments and platforms, in order to ensure their sustainability and replicability in a national context.
MIDO Integral
Public health systems in Mexico and Latin America face a double burden of disease. On the one hand, chronic non-communicable diseases such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease generate great pressure given the growing demand for health services. On the other hand, the demand for pregnancy care services persists, as well as care for infectious diseases.
It is necessary to promote a paradigm shift that allows for health services:
- Focused on proactive prevention and anticipation of risks and damages
- Centered on the person, with accompaniment and human sense
- Ubiquitous, with community reach and traceability of your health status
- Focused on the continuum of quality care
Thus, with the aim of having a comprehensive primary care centered on the person, the Carlos Slim Foundation has created MIDO Integral, which allows the systematic evaluation and monitoring of risks and damages to health throughout life, from pregnancy until adulthood.
MIDO Integral allows the follow-up of a person in their life line, from pregnancy, early childhood, school age, adolescence and even adulthood, with an ecosystem that facilitates personalized public health.
Vaccination
In order to support the strengthening of national vaccination programs, Carlos Slim Foundation developed the Electronic Vaccination Record, a robust platform that allows health personnel to register vaccination actions, in order to know the vaccination coverage at its different levels, from the health unit to the national level, in addition to targeting actions that allow having complete vaccination schemes among the population.
On the other hand, developed VacunAction so that parents or guardians can follow up on the vaccination schedule for girls and boys.
Continuing Professional Education
It is important to promote the assimilation of scientific knowledge among health professionals who work at the first level of care. For this reason, the Carlos Slim Foundation has developed an academic offer with the academic endorsement of prestigious national and international universities, where updated and evidence-based content is offered on maternal and perinatal health, chronic diseases, vaccinology and some infectious diseases, among others.
The academic offer consists of diplomas, skills certifications, workshops and courses, which are offered through a robust digital platform.
Renal Health and Transplants
In response, Carlos Slim Foundation se dio a la tarea de impulsar la prevención de enfermedades crónicas, fomentar la cultura de la donación de órganos y apoyar la procuración y realización de trasplantes mediante la campaña “Heroes for Life”, cuyo objetivo es impulsar y promover permanentemente la donación de órganos y tejidos de manera que cada día haya más donadores, para que las personas que están a la espera puedan ser trasplantadas.
Addictions
The addictions program of Carlos Slim Foundation strengthens the quality of services offered by rehabilitation centers throughout Mexico, both public and private. Its objective is to improve the services offered in these centers through the training and professionalization of the responsible personnel.
In addition, the program acts as a bridge between the Mutual Help Centers and government agencies, including the state councils against addictions to strengthen care networks, providing permanent advice so that the centers comply with the Official Mexican Standard on addictions and obtain registration with the National Center for Addiction Prevention and Control (CENADIC), through which they can receive federal resources to finance their operation.
Palliative Care
This program seeks to improve the quality of life of terminally ill patients and their families. It is supported by Fundación Inbursa, and seeks to promote research and psychosocial care for these people in public and private institutions.
Apps
Carlos Slim Foundation believes that new technologies and digital media are a fundamental tool to promote education, training and knowledge in health. That is why we have developed mobile applications that allow people to become active elements in the care of their health and that of their loved ones.
