Belize promotes the quality of care via Digital Health

The Belize government relies on the TecSalud organization to encourage new methodologies that provide a safe workflow in the country's health systems and services. The following study seeks to clarify the situation in the region in relation to the practice of Digital Health.

In Latin America, health has been deployed with superficial but firm steps. There are a variety of opportunities according to the geographical area, as some countries are developing large-scale projects and others begin to perpetrate the access gap that prevented all citizens from enjoying health services equally.

Belize is at a point of growth and plans through the cooperation of the Ministry of Health and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The digital platform that they are promoting, is a software of Continuous Quality Improvement (MCC) implemented to evaluate and score medical staff depending on the quality of their work and offer feedback to continue improving aspects.

This tool will be dedicated to monitor and give value to the procedures carried out in various areas and specialties of the health sector, using algorithms that take their own criteria to classify the steps that the doctor performs and calculate an appropriate score. Which can indicate if it is the best option in the future to continue performing medical treatments and operations.

The goal of these efforts is to cover local needs with public policies that safeguard the health and quality of life of all citizens equally, offering clear information to compare the best options and adequate decision making.
