CDC launches interactive prostate cancer program through conversation with a "virtual human"

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently began using an interactive screening tool through a web platform for patients seeking information about prostate cancer.

It is an interactive video of a "virtual human" named Nathan, who offers valuable information about the disease. The websitestarts with an introductory video of Nathan where he tells his experience of exams and studies that has been done to detect any abnormalities.

The platform then allows the user to choose the type of conversation they want to have. A total of five options are deployed ranging from choosing a conversation with great security to a conversation with less confidence. It then provides three more options on the topics the user wants to get information, first screening, its benefits and types, Nathan's story, and finally information about prostate conditions and diagnosis.

This platform provides reliable and relevant information about prostate cancer, prostate antigen testing, and tests to arrive at a diagnosis. As well as basic recommendations on screening techniques and exams.

This tool represents an option for patients to obtain valuable information, on this topic, which may be uncomfortable or delicate for some people. And it also promotes prevention and the importance of going to the doctor regularly for checkups.
