Three IMSS Family Medical Units in Querétaro enabled remote monitoring by teleconsultation for patients with COVID-19

The Family Medical Units (UMF) No. 5, 15 and 16, of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Querétaro, will offer medical care through telemedicine, to follow up on patients with COVID-19.

IMSS will provide telemedicine follow-up consultations to patients who have tested positive for COVID-19. The objective is to monitor and accompany patients in their homes in a virtual and remote way, and prevent them from leaving their homes, while they are taking the disease and recovering.

Entitlements with mild symptoms who have positive results for COVID-19 and who are registered by IMSS as an outpatient will receive instructions to receive video calls through Teams.

UMF No. 5, 15 and 16 will be in charge of bringing this program to IMSS beneficiaries. Previously, this telemonitoring service was only carried out through telephone calls, however, the option of video calls has been added for patients who have an Internet connection at home.

The user must install the aforementioned application on their mobile phone to access the teleconsultations with the doctor and continue their remote monitoring.
