Argentine doctor participates in the creation of a mobile support application for people with multiple sclerosis

The Argentine doctor Guido Giunti participated in the development of More Stamina, a Digital Health solution based on artificial intelligence, to support people living with multiple sclerosis.

More Stamina was created by a team of researchers from universities in Finland and Sweden. It is a tool for organizing daily tasks in people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). The goal is to manage your energy throughout the day and minimize the impact of fatigue.

More Stamina has the following key features:

  • Personalized recommendations: The application learns as users use it.
  • Evidence-based approach: It has behavioral models.
  • Patient-Centered Design: Patient Needs as the Focal Point
  • Gamification elements: Take advantage of game design to improve the user experience.
  • Self-management: Energy management education to support people with MS.

MS symptoms generally include mobility and cognitive problems, and especially fatigue. More Stamina, was developed by a multidisciplinary team with specialists in design, psychology and Artificial Intelligence.

"We are exploring how digital health solutions can survive beyond laboratory conditions," Guido Giunti explained about the application. The also researcher explains that the project is based on two initial questions: how to integrate digital solutions into the health system? Health? And how can they become sustainable?

More Stamina shows people the "energy" they can use during the day. With this system, patients can plan their daily activities and know, through the app's measurement, which activities increase their fatigue.

The More Stamina team has published nearly 50 research articles, all available on ResearchGate: https://www.researchgate.net/project/More-Stamina-digital-health-solutions-for-persons-with-Multiple-Sclerosis
