Google partners with a major U.S. healthcare provider to accelerate digital transformation

Google Cloud and HCA Healthcare, one of the largest hospitals and healthcare services companies in the U.S., signed a partnership to improve data analytics and technologies focused on medical decision making.

Google and HCA will work together to develop a data analytics platform that provides security and insight into the creation of new operating models. HCA has data from more than 32 million medical appointments each year, so they will look for flaws and opportunities to improve clinical care.

HCA curreenlty manages more than 180 hospitals in 21 states and approximately 2000 clinics, the digital transformation of its services would benefit more than 93,000 nurses and nurses and more than 47,000 medical professionals.

"Next-generation care demands data science-informed decision support so we can more sharply focus on safe, efficient and effective patient care," explained Sam Hazen, CEO of HCA Healthcare.

HCE has deployed nearly 90,000 mobile devices that manage tools to improve healthcare. In this way, now in alliance with Google Cloud, they seek to empower nursing professionals and medical specialties through work tools.

HCA will implement in more hospitals the Google Cloud Healthcare API and Big Querty an extensive database to empower the use of data standards such as HL7v2 and FHIRv4.

"The cloud can be an accelerant for innovation in health, particularly in driving data interoperability, which is critical in streamlining operations and providing better quality of care to improve patient outcomes," said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud.
