Digital Health

Digital health is the convergence of digital technologies with health, that allow a bigger spectrum of information and knowledge about patients and conditions so that they may have access to a bigger efficiency of healthcare systems.

Science, medicine and technology are every day closer. Achieving this, we offer many innovative alternatives for the use of technology to access new information about our health. It is also allowing doctors and patients to have a more immediate relationship and expand communication within the medical field.

Patients and consumers can use digital health to better manage and track their activities related to health and well-being, so the FDA is giving great importance to all this and how it can help society in big ways.

The constantly changing technologies, such as smartphones, social networks and different Internet platforms are changing the way we have access to different health and information systems. Many of these systems were created a long time ago with the aim of providing more information and access to better medical care.

However, with the approval of the FDA, they are now being digitized, so that everyone can access them through technology such as:

    • Mobile medical apps
    • Health IT
    • Telemedicine
    • Medical Device Data Systems
    • Medical device Interoperability
    • Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)

This means that anyone, anywhere could learn virtually anything about their health a condition, or how to treat it. Information of different treatments, opportunities and even places where they could be assisted.

The era of information is upon us. Technology has not just changed the way we communicate. It is also changing the way we live, and it is rapidly changing the way we access information about ourselves and healthcare.
