2005. eHealth Resolution. WHO

The World Health Organization published resolutions and decisions on Digital Health during the 58th World Health Assembly.

Two main conversation lines are adressed:

  1. Urges the Member States to consider the development of a long-term strategic plan, develop the ICT infrastructure in health, consider greater collaboration between the public and private sectors; reach all communities, including those in a state of vulnerability; implement technological systems that allow surveillance and rapid response to diseases and public health emergencies.
  2. Requests the Director General to promote multisectoral collaboration for administrative solutions, techniques and ethical guidelines in digital health; expand the use of electronic information; provide technical assistance to member states; facilitate the integration of digital health; continue the expansion of mechanisms such as the Academy of Health; provide support to member states to promote the development, application and management of national health information standards; submit to the Executive Board a list of specific activities proposed.
