City in Argentina is developing a Digital Health Project

The City of Bahia in the Province of Buenos Aires, presented the Bahia Salud application, which will be part of a larger Digital Health project.

The Municipal Health Secretary of Bahía, Pablo Acrogliano, and the Director of Digital Government Technologies and Innovation, Ricardo de Weerth, presented the Bahía Salud application on June 23.

The Bahía Salud mobile application allows users to enter their data and symptoms to be subsequently attended by the medical team that will verify the compatibility of the symptomatology with COVID-19. Secretary Acrogliano explained that this is a joint project with the private sector: "we have been developing it since February, with the joint effort and work of both the public and private sectors".

He also explained that this application is the first part of a larger project that involves various aspects of Digital Health, not only the electronic medical record "but also another series of services," he said.

Initially, the application will carry out the COVID-19 symptom questionnaires "will make it possible to classify you in a kind of traffic light and then direct you to a self-monitoring or remote monitoring center," explained the secretary.

On the other hand, Acrogliano explained that the project involves not only the Department of Health but also Municipal Systems, the Municipal Hospital, the Medical Association and the Penna Hospital. He emphasized the collaboration between different institutions to achieve comprehensive projects: "When we try to have public policies it is very important to listen to everyone, reach a consensus and have a quality product, as we intend to do".
