Telesalud of the University of Caldas in Colombia, began to provide care and monitoring through telemedicine to people who have received the vaccine against COVID-19 in the department. In addition, they also provide previous assessments to people who will be vaccinated, to determine their health status.
Dr. Marcela Tabares, Telemedicine leader, explained that Telesalud continues to offer tele-monitoring services to patients with COVID-19 symptoms or any other type of health care they require. "In addition, with our care we perform medical check-ups to establish the health status of people who are going to be vaccinated and give them recommendations for a better assimilation of the biological", explained Tabares.
In this regard, Esteban Granada, Director of Telesalud, highlighted the care provided by Telesalud since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak a year ago. He explained that more than 211,000 people have been benefited and at least a thousand health technicians and professionals are taking virtual vaccination courses to obtain the certification granted by the University of Caldas.
The Telesalud project of the University of Caldas has achieved significant momentum and success since the beginning of the pandemic. The collaborative work with health authorities in Caldas and the government of Caldas has allowed the progress of telemedicine in the department.
