Government of Paraná in Brazil implemented a new telemedicine system

The project called Saúde Online Paraná, is a new telemedicine platform that will establish a link between patients and doctors for health care in a personalized way.

The Government of the state of Paraná in southern Brazil, announced that they will implement a new health service based on telemedicine and Digital Health called Saúde Online Paraná. The purpose of this platform is to establish a link between patients and medical specialists and health professionals in a personalized way.

The app is available through Google Play on Android devices. Among its services it offers a tool based on Artificial Intelligence, for medical self-assessment. In addition, the new platform offers users the opportunity to schedule and receive teleconsultas.

“Here you will find a form so that you can perform a self-assessment of your health status, as well as an address for teleconsultation, in cases identified as suspected of Covid-19. It is a quick and convenient way to have access to doctors, nurses and psychologists who will provide care to the population in times of pandemic. These are consultations with specialized professionals, lasting 30 minutes, in the comfort of your home and without waiting in medical clinics and hospitals,” reads in the app description on Google Play.

“We have gathered the best technologies for identity certification, screening, Artificial Intelligence and telehealth so that the State of Paraná can have better control of its cases of coronavirus and other diseases. Based on this truthful and accurate data, it will be possible to manage public health policies even more assertively, with the advantage of involving the community in participatory surveillance,” said Jeff Plentz of Saúde Online Paraná's behind technology group.

This new program was designed after the demands of the General Superintendency of Science, Technology and the action of the Higher Education of Paraná (Seti), and the Secretary of Health of the State of Paraná (Sesa). “This tool will benefit the physical and mental health of the population of Paraná, allowing the monitoring of integrated reports and indicators on the situation of the pandemic in the State,” said Aldo Bona superintendent of the Seti.
