Healthtech grow in Argentina to offer health services via digital platforms

Prepayment health insurance increased their price by 70% in 2019; "digital prepayment" provide accessible plans and digital medical care.

At least in Buenos Aires metropolitan area, 200,000 people have disenrolled of their health insurance providers, according to the ONG Defendamos Buenos Aires, which gave entrance to the plans offered by healthtech or health technology.

It is a set of services and tools that complement public health services. They are completely digital and do not have branches, focus on primary health care and also provide medical video consultations and discounts at pharmacies.

Andrés Lawson, president of the Argentine Chamber of Health and Technology, detailed that there are at least 20 companies that offer this type of services to the population in the country.

Companies regularly manage modular plans, so different coverages can be added such as home medical consultations, or dental emergencies.

Healthtech in this field, provide different types of services, some offer monthly plans, individual or family plans, other plans for companies or corporations and finally there are those that offer individual consultations with professionals via web and discounts at pharmacies.

In this way, healthtech are growing in Argentina, after the rise of prices in traditional services, which now are beginning to digitize.
