Telesalud Caldas shares its care model in Spain

The Telehealth program of the University of Caldas in Colombia presented its telemedicine and epidemiological surveillance model to the Spanish Society of Epidemiology.

Representatives of Telehealth Caldas traveled to Donostia, Spain, to present at the annual meeting of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology and present their applied technological solutions such as the COVID-19 registry and telemedicine. Since last year, these tools have drawn attention on the European continent and will even replicate a telepsychology model in France.

During the visit of Telesalud Caldas to Spain, the director of this program, Esteban Granada Aguirre, participated in several presentations in which he presented results on the teleconsultation model, the registration of people with COVID-19 during the first months of the pandemic and its remote tracking and monitoring. As well as other services implemented for the handling and management of the pandemic at the local and departmental level.

The objective of Telesalud Caldas is to continue its task of expanding medical care through technology to benefit vulnerable groups or those living in remote locations. For this they seek to sign new agreements and alliances as has happened in France and Spain. "It is very important to sign these agreements on this continent because they generate resources for the University of Caldas and with their profits they will benefit the population of Caldas," Granada Aguirre explained.

In this way, Telesalud seeks to publicize its telemedicine processes and become an international benchmark.
