The WHO presented a mobile application for the practice of yoga

The World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Indian government has launched a Yoga mobile app to help users practice yoga and stay active.

The WHO launched the mYoga application on June 20, a mobile application to support the practice of yoga. It is available for mobile devices. The application shows a complete collection of videos and audio files to practice yoga and even to teach it. The application seeks to promote physical activity. It is a free tool, intended for anyone who wants to practice yoga regardless of whether they have experience or practice it regularly.

The application was developed thanks to the collaboration between the WHO and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). In addition, it was attended by the unit of Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine of the WHO and the National Institute of Yoga Morarji Desai.

mYoga is part of the global traditional medicine strategy 2014-2023, this strategy aims to "strengthen the quality, safety and efficacy of traditional and complementary medicine", explains the WHO.

Yoga is a type of exercise for anyone, regardless of age, to perform physical activity. “Physical activity is associated with better mental health, prevention and delay of dementia, and better quality of life and well-being,” explains the WHO.

You can download the app on your device Android or Apple.
