Specialists from the Itaipu Paraguay Technological Park (PTI-PY), developed a tool for virtual connection between patients and doctors.
The PTI-PY is a technological center whose purpose is innovation and the development of scientific knowledge. One of its most recent advances is the "Boldo" software, whose purpose is to be a platform to carry out telemedicine actions with high quality standards.
Through this digital ecosystem, authorized professionals could have access to the medical information of their patients. In addition, its interoperable system would allow data and information from various health centers, hospitals and clinics to be used.
This model was used in Paraguay during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, after a series of tests, the system is ready to be implemented on a larger scale.
In the midst of a pandemic, the PTI-PY began a line of work in health technologies, where telemedicine, electronic medical prescriptions and the development of sensors for remote patient monitoring stood out.
Boldo will use data from the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS), which includes various clinics and hospitals. Likewise, Boldo has had an approach with pharmacies to connect pharmacy operators with doctors.
The PTI-PY reported that they seek to implement this software in more health institutions in the country. They currently work with the Tesai Foundation, which will be in charge of its implementation.
