5G would boost digital health systems in Latin America

A panel discussion was held in London appealing to the upcoming emergence of 5G technology and how it will interact with the technological systems that companies and institutions use to enhance their activities.

Alan Evans – director of innovations and strategies – together with Joao Monteiro Soares – in charge of the solutions department – of the telecoms company Ericsson, agreed that data computing has to be combined with the new technology to renew the connection network and save time, at the same time, with an unprecedented speed.

In about an hour, they talked on themes of resource compatibility and new innovations so that sensors and other platforms can fully exercise and trigger a cost balance indispensable for optimal development.

Within their participation, they did not miss the point of the locations that will correspond to the 5G and mentioned that, depending on the architecture of the service, it can be distributed at the national or regional level; there is no specific point to locate but that the importance will be in transforming the capacity of the network in order to balance a virtual ecosystem with the innovation of supporting any technological application that different providers can equip.

They both shared the need to invest in the platform and that means that service providers support and complement each other in an environment that hosts apps with different levels of operability determined by their technological maturity and the regulations that entail.

To free up funding, we need to know the nuances and aspects of the market and pay attention to the situation in Latin America with the task of centralizing the work and systems to renew the potential and scopes of business and, in particular, of practices such as telemedicine that revolutionizes the remote interaction between doctor and patient to achieve absolute accuracy in the results.

In itself, the commitment to follow that experts have delimited, rests on considering the priorities and challenges of each region to shape the teamwork of the government and the technology departments of each sector because "the reality of the market must be appreciated".

However, the range of interaction between systems that connect to the cloud and developers intensifies with the data storage paradigm, in which all information reaches its destination successfully and reducing latency. The contribution that the new 5G will spread lies in the immediacy of services – such as digital health – that can be answered directly in real time.

Near the end of the interventions, three working perspectives were captured to effectively configure the modes in which the network is developed:

  • Technology
  • Business
  • Ecosystems

Such requirements would rework the structure of the world of things by 73% with the implicit delimitation of considering them susceptible to further growth and adapt to the reality of the market.

In the end, the conclusion reached was that 5G will come to enhance the information paths and storage space provided by system developers. A real perspective cannot be narrowed until the new network officially operates and is allowed to evaluate with evidence showing how far it can go and then to validate it in depth, but the expectations of all digital technology providers are high to be able to take a big step in penetrating their developments use.
