Telehealth of the University of Caldas launches program for mental health care

Telehealth The University of Caldas, in conjunction with the University Health Service Provider Institutions (IPS), launched a mental health care program.

Mental health care has become increasingly important due to the rise in psychological disorders since the beginning of the pandemic. In this regard, the IPS Universitaria and Telehealth Caldas announced the launch of a new comprehensive mental health care project. The service will be free for people in Colombia or for Colombians abroad.

“We remain committed to the mental health of the population. Today we are launching a pioneering program in Colombia and Latin America so that the entire population can access any mental health service free of charge,” explained Esteban Granada Aguirre, director of Telehealth.

The program will include comprehensive mental health care services such as: initial psychological care; follow-up care according to each case; psychiatric care; and a training program for the community.

This latest service will offer tools for patients to better understand their personality, manage emotions, and other aspects related to healthy family life, building relationships, and psychological first aid.

In this sense, any person in Colombia, regardless of their affiliation with a subsidized regime or another IPS, will be able to access this comprehensive service, which aims to facilitate access to mental health care.
