The World Health Organization (WHO) brought together partners, development agencies and digital health experts for a roundtable on 23 June.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The objectives of this meeting were to discuss and agree on how to accelerate and adopt Digital Health solutions, including Early Warning Disease Surveillance Systems, at all levels and thus promote digital transformation in health systems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Another objective was the discussion on how to improve collaboration between the Global Digital Health Community that includes development partners, governments, academia, civil society and the private sector and contribute to the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>

In 2019, WHO's Department of Health and Innovation was created as a strategy to accelerate the use of public health technologies. In addition, WHO also has established a Technical Advisory Group on Digital Health, which serves as an advisory body on global digital health issues, specific to the development and implementation of global standards for the governance and supervision of digital, public or private health systems or products.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

WHO is working to ensure that countries can carry out strategies that benefit from new technologies and thus achieve the SDGs. Artificial intelligence developments are currently used to combat COVID-19, for case tracking and monitoring of available resources. This is why global efforts to meet the objectives require a new paradigm of participation, with the meeting that had as participants various global organizations related to public health.<\/p>

At the meeting, Dr Bruce Aylward, Senior Advisor for Organizational Change at WHO, presented his topic on Access to COVID-19 Tools and its Acceleration Processes. Subsequently, discussed the potential of Digital Health in the process of digitizing the health sector to achieve the SDGs topic presented by Dr. Naveen Rao of the Rockefeller Foundation.<\/p>

The last theme was the Global Community of Digital Health, led by Stefan Germann, director of Fondation Botnar, a Swiss-based philanthropic foundation, where possible points of action were discussed for nearly an hour.<\/p>

WHO has stated \u201cthat the use and expansion of digital health solutions can revolutionize the way people around the world achieve higher standards of health and access services to promote and protect their health and well-being,\u201d rather the importance of meetings that bring together different actors and participants in WHO strategies and objectives.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

La Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), reuni\u00f3 a socios, agencias de desarrollo y expertos en salud digital para una mesa redonda que se realiz\u00f3 de manera virtual el 23 de junio. Los objetivos de esta reuni\u00f3n fueron discutir y acordar c\u00f3mo acelerar y adoptar las soluciones de Salud Digital, incluyendo Sistemas de alerta temprana y Sistemas de vigilancia de enfermedades, en todos los niveles y as\u00ed promover la transformaci\u00f3n digital en los sistemas de salud. Otro de los objetivos fue la discusi\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo mejorar la colaboraci\u00f3n entre la Comunidad Global de Salud Digital que incluye socios de desarrollo, gobiernos, academia, sociedad civil y sector privado y contribuir al cumplimiento de los Objetivos del Desarrollo sustentable (ODS). En 2019, se cre\u00f3 el Departamento de Salud e Innovaci\u00f3n de la OMS, como estrategia para acelerar el uso de tecnolog\u00edas en salud p\u00fablica. Adem\u00e1s, la OMS tambi\u00e9n tiene establecido un Grupo Asesor T\u00e9cnico en Salud Digital, que funge como un \u00f3rgano asesor en asuntos globales sobre salud digital, en espec\u00edfico el desarrollo y la implementaci\u00f3n de est\u00e1ndares globales para la gobernanza y supervisi\u00f3n de sistemas o productos de salud digital, p\u00fablicos o privados. La OMS se encuentra trabajando para que los pa\u00edses puedan llevar a cabo estrategias que se vean beneficiadas gracias a nuevas tecnolog\u00edas y as\u00ed lograr los ODS. Actualmente se utilizan desarrollos de Inteligencia artificial para combatir al COVID-19, a trav\u00e9s de rastreo de casos y monitoreo de recursos disponibles. Es por ello que los esfuerzos globales para el cumplimiento de los objetivos requieren un nuevo paradigma de participaci\u00f3n, ante ello se realiz\u00f3 la reuni\u00f3n que tuvo como participantes a diversas organizaciones globales relacionadas a la salud p\u00fablica. Dentro de la reuni\u00f3n, el Dr. Bruce Aylward, Senior Advisor de Cambio Organizacional en la OMS, present\u00f3 su ponencia sobre el Acceso a herramientas COVID-19 y sus procesos de aceleraci\u00f3n. Posteriormente, se discuti\u00f3 sobre sobre el potencial de la Salud Digital en el proceso de digitalizaci\u00f3n del sector salud para alcanzar los ODS tema presentado por el Dr. Naveen Rao, de la Fundaci\u00f3n Rockefeller. El \u00faltimo tema fue la Comunidad Glocal de Salud Digital, dirigido por Stefan Germann, director de Fondation Botnar, fundaci\u00f3n filantr\u00f3pica con sede en Suiza, en el cual se discutieron los posibles puntos de acci\u00f3n durante casi una hora. La OMS ha declarado \u201cque el uso y la ampliaci\u00f3n de las soluciones de salud digital pueden revolucionar la forma en que las personas en todo el mundo logran est\u00e1ndares m\u00e1s altos de salud y acceden a servicios para promover y proteger su salud y bienestar”, antes esto la importancia de los encuentros que re\u00fanen distintos actores y participantes de las estrategias y objetivos de la OMS.
