be able to lead a healthy life with the control of their condition. The study aimed to explore participants' diverse experiences while using technology-assisted self-control tools, as well as to understand the health indicators of overweight or obese adults diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.<\/p><p>The sample consisted of ten people, eight women and two men, with an average age of 59.4 years. Researchers analyzed qualitative data retrieved from an intervention group in a randomized clinical trial lasting 6 months.<\/p><p>All ten participants monitored their diet, exercise and weight through <em>Lose It!<\/em> a platform for recording daily eating and other healthy habits. On the other hand, they monitored and recorded their blood glucose levels through a glucometer and the <em>Diabetes Connect app.<\/em>After this, they held group discussions six weeks later to begin registrations and a second at 6 months.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-54b23c0 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no wpr-sticky-section-no wpr-equal-height-no\" data-id=\"54b23c0\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-bbbb965\" data-id=\"bbbb965\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb1dfb0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eb1dfb0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>During group discussions, the following topics emerged:<\/p><ul><li>Perceived benefits of technology-assisted self-monitoring.<\/li><li>Perceived ease of use.<\/li><li>Use of technology-assisted self-monitoring.<\/li><li>Facilitators of engaging in healthy lifestyle behaviors.<\/li><li>Positive lifestyle change.<\/li><li>Barriers to engaging in healthy lifestyle behaviors<\/li><li>Learning curve.<\/li><li>Monitored data sharing.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Overall, the results of the study showed a positive response from participants to the use of technology to impact healthy lifestyles. El estudio tuvo como objetivo explorar las diversas experiencias de los participantes mientras usaban herramientas de autocontrol asistidas por tecnolog\u00eda, y adem\u00e1s conocer los indicadores de salud de adultos con sobrepeso u obesidad con diagn\u00f3sticos de diabetes tipo 2. La muestra consisti\u00f3 en diez personas, ocho mujeres y dos hombres, con edad media de 59.4 a\u00f1os. Los investigadores analizaron datos cualitativos recuperados de un grupo de intervenci\u00f3n en un ensayo cl\u00ednico aleatorio con duraci\u00f3n de 6 meses. Los diez participantes monitorearon su dieta, ejercicio y peso a trav\u00e9s de Lose It! una plataforma para el registro de la alimentaci\u00f3n diaria y otros h\u00e1bitos saludables.&nbsp; Por otra parte, monitorearon y registraron sus niveles de glucosa en la sangre a trav\u00e9s de un gluc\u00f3metro y la aplicaci\u00f3n Diabetes Connect. Barreras para participar en comportamientos de estilo de vida saludable Curva de aprendizaje. Intercambio de datos monitoreados. En general los resultados del estudio mostraron una respuesta positiva por parte de los participantes ante la utilizaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00eda para incidir en estilos de vida saludables. Adem\u00e1s, consideraron que el uso de estas herramientas es seguro y conforme pas\u00f3 el tiempo se fue result\u00f3 m\u00e1s c\u00f3modo para ellos. Este estudio abre puerta a nuevos estudios con grupos m\u00e1s grandes sobre el automonitoreo asistido por tecnolog\u00eda y los cambios de comportamiento en el estilo de vida que pueden propiciar, as\u00ed como otros indicadores de salud que miden los avances positivos los h\u00e1bitos del paciente respecto al cuidado y control de su enfermedad.
