It is possible to plan appropriate, high-impact public policies, however, it requires an analysis of hundreds of variables. There are tools to predict, resolve and prevent crises in public health, they are alternatives that are difficult to adopt in low- and middle-income countries.<\/p><p>In this context, the INS propose PREDICTOR de SALUD (Health predictor), a tool that seeks to predict the behavior of public health interest events (EISP, Eventos de inter\u00e9s en salud p\u00fablica) through agent-based models (ABM). ABM, a class of computational models used for simulating individual or collective interactions to assess their effects on the system. This allows you to understand behavior patterns and how a system is organized.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-2b55a29 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no wpr-sticky-section-no wpr-equal-height-no\" data-id=\"2b55a29\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-14e9181\" data-id=\"14e9181\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-70a47ae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"70a47ae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Interventions by epidemiologists, entomologists, parasitologists and other health professionals are necessary. In addition, non-human factors should be taken into account and those that do relate to humans and interactions with each other, so environmental factors should be considered. ABM should establish input parameters, such as the number of inhabitants, rates of contagion, in the case of an EISP related to an infectious disease, for example, and output variables, such as morbidity, mortality, lethality, among others.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Among the public policy options proposed by the INS is the design of an ABM through computational software and calibrating the MBA through SIVIGILA data. Calibrations can be evaluated using mathematical techniques, to determine if it is ready to be applied in a specific actual situation. With adequate calibration, data, and sufficient information, the results can help you understand what the trend will be in a specific location in the face of an event determined as an epidemic of an infectious disease. El Instituto Nacional de Salud en Colombia, propuso una alternativa para conocer y predecir comportamientos dentro de la salud p\u00fablica y su impacto. Es posible planear pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas adecuadas y de alto impacto, sin embargo, requiere un an\u00e1lisis de cientos de variables. Existen herramientas para predecir, resolver y prevenir crisis en salud p\u00fablica, son alternativas que resultan dif\u00edcil de adoptarse en pa\u00edses de ingresos medios y bajos. Sobre este contexto el INS propone el PREDICTOR SALUD, una herramienta que busca pronosticar el comportamiento de eventos de inter\u00e9s en salud p\u00fablica (EISP), a trav\u00e9s de modelos basados en agentes (MBA). Los MBA, una clase de modelos computacionales utilizados para la simulaci\u00f3n de interacciones individuales o colectivas para poder evaluar sus efectos en el sistema. Existen MBA enfocados en Biolog\u00eda, en negocios, en tecnolog\u00eda y por supuesto en econom\u00eda y en ciencias sociales. El MBA que desarrolla el INS, se alimenta de datos que provienen del Sistema de Vigilancia en Salud P\u00fablica (SIVIGILA), como mencionan en el brief policy: Los MBA buscan comprender un sistema a partir del an\u00e1lisis de sus partes; modelan las maneras como ciertos agentes, por ejemplo, individuos, familias, grupos \u00e9tnicos, carros, animales, etc. act\u00faan, se relacionan entre s\u00ed y con su entorno. Esto permite entender patrones de comportamiento y la manera en qu\u00e9 se organiza un sistema. Son necesarias las intervenciones de epidemi\u00f3logos, entom\u00f3logos, parasit\u00f3logos y otros profesionales en salud. Adem\u00e1s, se deben tomar en cuenta los factores ajenos a los humanos y aquellos que s\u00ed se relacionan con humanos y las interacciones entre s\u00ed, de igual forma los factores ambientales deben ser considerados. Los MBA deben establecer par\u00e1metros de entrada, como la cantidad de habitantes, tasas de contagio, en caso de tratarse de un EISP relacionado a una enfermedad infecciosa, por ejemplo, y variables de salida, como la morbilidad, mortalidad, letalidad, entre otras. \u00a0 Entre las opciones de pol\u00edtica p\u00fablica que propone el INS, est\u00e1 el dise\u00f1o de un MBA a trav\u00e9s de software computacionales y calibrar el MBA a trav\u00e9s de los datos de SIVIGILA. Las calibraciones pueden ser evaluadas a trav\u00e9s de t\u00e9cnicas matem\u00e1ticas, para determinar si est\u00e1 listo para aplicarse en una situaci\u00f3n real espec\u00edfica. Al contar con una calibraci\u00f3n adecuada, con los datos e informaci\u00f3n suficientes, los resultados pueden ayudar a entender cu\u00e1l ser\u00e1 la tendencia en un lugar espec\u00edfico ante un evento determinado como una epidemia de una enfermedad infecciosa.
