The software works through a simulation framework and a scoring system, evaluates how accurately each algorithm works and its effectiveness in measuring genetic diversity such as: the proportion of cancer cells in the tumor sample; the number of genetically different groups of cancer cells in the tumor sample; the proportion of cells within each of these groups; what genetic mutations were in each group; and the genetic relationship between the groups.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Our new framework provides a foundation which, over time as it is run against more tumours, will hopefully become a much-needed, unbiased, gold-standard benchmarking tool for assessing models that aim to characterise a tumour\u2019s genetic diversity,\u201d said lead author Maxime Tarabichi of the Crick Institute's Cancer Genomics Laboratory.<\/p><p>Research showed 580 predictions, which added new features to the software to make more effective predictions. \"Computer simulations in cancer genomics are helping us develop more accurate tools, as we understand where these tools perform well, and where they need improvement,\" explained Peter Van Loo of the Cancer Genomics Laboratory.<\/p><p>Such advances would benefit patients for specialists to provide them with personalized care and appropriate medications according to their Este art\u00edculo publicado en Nature Biotechnology, muestra el desarrollo de un software que busca establecer un punto de referencia para las predicciones inform\u00e1ticas en c\u00e1ncer. El software funciona a trav\u00e9s de un marco de simulaci\u00f3n y un sistema de puntuaci\u00f3n, eval\u00faa con que precisi\u00f3n funciona cada algoritmo y su efectividad al medir la diversidad gen\u00e9tica como: la proporci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas cancerosas en la muestra de tumor; el n\u00famero de grupos gen\u00e9ticamente diferentes de c\u00e9lulas cancerosas en la muestra de tumor; la proporci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas dentro de cada uno de estos grupos; qu\u00e9 mutaciones gen\u00e9ticas estaban en cada grupo; y la relaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica entre los grupos. \u201cNuestro nuevo marco proporciona una base que, con el tiempo, a medida que se ejecuta contra m\u00e1s tumores, se convertir\u00e1 con suerte en una herramienta de referencia muy necesaria, imparcial y de referencia para evaluar modelos que tienen como objetivo caracterizar la diversidad gen\u00e9tica de un tumor\u201d, mencion\u00f3 el autor principal Maxime Tarabichi, del Laboratorio de Gen\u00f3mica del C\u00e1ncer del Instituto Crick.
