The subcategories were as follows:<\/p><ul><li>Track A. Identifying the COVID-19 Immune<\/li><li>Track B. New ways to deliver care in a COVID-19 world<\/li><li>Track C. Health systems asset coordination, distribution and conversion<\/li><li>Track D. Healthcare workforce well-being (all population well-being), management and training<\/li><\/ul><p>The remaining three categories were: \"Protecting the Most Vulnerable,\" \"Preventing Misinformation\" and \"Empowering the Informal Economy.\"<\/p><p>Within the first category, Mexican students and professionals and students from Mexican universities were part of some of the winning proposals.<\/p><p>Tonatiuh Delgado Figueroa, student of the specialty of Internal Medicine at the University Center of Health Sciences of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) was part of one of the winning teams along with Antonio Feregrino Lomel\u00edn graduated from Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey and Peruvian Dr. Mar\u00eda Rosario. To do this, the proposed solution was a block chain system that seeks to apply a QR code to vaccines to keep a complete control at every stage of the supply chain until it is applied and discarded.<\/p><p>The system monitors that the vaccine is being transported under ideal temperature conditions. The block chain distributes information to computers to prevent tampering and prevent corruption or vaccines from reaching their final destination. That is, your project grants a process of transparency and biosecurity to record that the whole process through which the vaccine passes before being applied.<\/p><p>Also, as part of Track B, the physician Diego Abelardo \u00c1lvarez recently graduated from the Master in Medical Sciences from the Anahuac University was part of the UVC Lights vs COVID-19 project, which consists of disinfecting personal protective equipment for medical personnel to through type C ultraviolet light and thus allow its reuse in the safest way. In this way, there may be a lower risk of contagion among medical personnel when using disinfected equipment and lower costs for hospitals in this type of equipment that is used once.<\/p><p>Another of the winning projects was <strong>Med-TV<\/strong> who was part of the Track D. Sulei Bautista, graduated from the PhD in Biomedical Sciences with orientation in Neurosciences of the UdeG, formed together with Venkata Marella of the United States, Galviba Pereira de India, Camilo Segura de Colombia and Shanon Snaden of Canada a teleeducation project for health professionals.<\/p><p>This project seeks to provide health training to health care personnel in rural Latin America and the proposed solution was the creation of a television radio program for health care training, using a low-cost, easy-to-implement phone to conduct a question-by-program session.<\/p><p>The solution is ideal for remote populations that do not have internet access. Due to differences in health systems in Latin America, they decided to implement the project in Bolivia, where only 40% of the population has access to the Internet. Bautista explains that the idea is to implement it in Guatemala, Honduras and other regions of the continent.<\/p><p>Another winning solution within Track D, was Luisa Rivero\u2019s -medical intern at Universidad An\u00e1huac-, who collaborated with Lara Guimar\u00e3es, Patrick Fischer, Pablo Illescas Buend\u00eda, Claudia Cristina Salda\u00f1a Calder\u00f3n and Katherine Mart\u00ednez Escalona in the development of the UNIDOSS project. This solution is a response to a problem of unequal distribution of health professionals in Latin America, focused on Mexico. The solution they developed was the creation of a database that meets the demands of each hospital with the available health professionals.<\/p><p>Also, as part of The Track D, <strong>Pixan<\/strong> project proved to be one of the winners. Bienestar de la fuerza laboral de salud (bienestar de toda la poblaci\u00f3n), gesti\u00f3n y capacitaci\u00f3n. Las tres categor\u00edas restantes fueron: \u201cProtegiendo a los m\u00e1s vulnerables\u201d, \u201cPreviniendo la desinformaci\u00f3n\u201d y \u201cEmpoderando la econom\u00eda informal\u201d. Dentro de la primera categor\u00eda, estudiantes y profesionistas mexicanos y alumnos de universidades mexicanas fueron parte de algunas de las propuestas ganadoras. Tonatiuh Delgado Figueroa, estudiante de la especialidad de Medicina Interna en el Centro Universitario de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) form\u00f3 parte de uno de los equipos ganadores junto con Antonio Feregrino Lomel\u00edn egresado del Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey y la doctora peruana Mar\u00eda Rosario. Su proyecto denominado Routine immunization with block chain, fue uno de los ganadores del Track B. Su proyecto busca resolver la problem\u00e1tica de c\u00f3mo suministrar vacunas con trazabilidad, equidad y transparencia. Para ello la soluci\u00f3n propuesta fue un sistema block chain que busca aplicar un c\u00f3digo QR a las vacunas para llevar un control completo en cada etapa de la cadena de suministro hasta que es aplicada y desechada. El sistema monitorea que la vacuna este siendo transportada en condiciones ideales de temperatura. De esta manera puede existir un menor riesgo de contagio entre el personal m\u00e9dico al utilizar equipo desinfectado y aminorar costos para los hospitales en este tipo de equipo que se utiliza una sola vez. Otro de los proyectos ganadores fue Med-TV que form\u00f3 parte del Track D. Este proyecto busca brindar capacitaci\u00f3n en salud a personal dedicado a la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica en zonas rurales de Latinoam\u00e9rica y la soluci\u00f3n propuesta fue la creaci\u00f3n de un programa de radio por televisi\u00f3n para capacitaci\u00f3n en atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, utilizando un tel\u00e9fono de bajo costo y f\u00e1cil de implementar para realizar una sesi\u00f3n de preguntas por programa. La soluci\u00f3n es ideal para las poblaciones remotas que no tienen acceso a internet. Debido a las diferencias en los sistemas de salud en Latinoam\u00e9rica, decidieron implementar el proyecto en Bolivia, donde solo el 40% de la poblaci\u00f3n tiene accesos a internet. Bautista explica que la idea es implementarlo en Guatemala, Honduras y otras regiones del continente. Otra soluci\u00f3n ganadora dentro del Track D fue la de Luisa Rivero, m\u00e9dico pasante por la Universidad An\u00e1huac, quien colabor\u00f3 con Lara Guimar\u00e3es, Patrick Fischer, Pablo Illescas Buend\u00eda, Claudia Cristina Salda\u00f1a Calder\u00f3n y Katherine Mart\u00ednez Escalona en el desarrollo del proyecto UNIDOSS. Esta soluci\u00f3n responde a una problem\u00e1tica de distribuci\u00f3n desigual de los profesionales de la salud en Latinoam\u00e9rica, enfocado en el caso de M\u00e9xico. La soluci\u00f3n que desarrollaron fue la creaci\u00f3n de una base de datos que atiende a las demandas de cada hospital con los profesionales de la salud disponibles. Tambi\u00e9n como parte del Track D, el proyecto Pixan result\u00f3 como uno de los ganadores.
