On March 9, Panama's Health Minister Rosario Turner confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the Central American country, and a day later, they reported the first fatality of the virus.<\/p>

Given the speed of the virus spread in the following weeks, the Government of Panama through the Ministry of Health (MINSA) launched a platform with up-to-date data on the country's situation<\/p>

Moreover, in a responsible attempt to combat disinformation in COVID-19 times, MINSA launched the portal yomeinformopma.org<\/a>which details information on COVID-19, symptoms, propagation methods, prevention measures and what to do in case of disease.<\/p>

In addition, MINSA enabled a WhatsApp chatbot that can be accessed via the following link: https:\/\/rosa.innovacion.gob.pa\/<\/a>. The chatbot called R.O.S.A. (Operational Automatic Health Response) performs a virtual screening and identifies possible cases of contagion, information that it sends to the MINSA. On the other hand, the private sector's response to the pandemic in Panama was also positive. The UK Embassy in Panama in collaboration with a pharmacist, Huli and the University Agency for Entrepreneurship Management at the University of Costa Rica (Auge-UCR) launched a virtual consultation platform to continue treatments of patients affected by the pandemic.<\/p>

In addition, other service delivery companies such as the Mobile Medical Emergency Service (SEMM), which offers mobile health services such as ambulances, enabled several channels to deal with the health emergency. SEMM implemented a COVID-19 symptom self-assessment questionnaire on its website. El gobierno paname\u00f1o a trav\u00e9s de su Ministerio de Salud habilit\u00f3 plataformas para la consulta de datos; por otra parte, el sector privado en salud aplica herramientas de telemedicina. El 9 de marzo la ministra de Salud de Panam\u00e1, Rosario Turner, confirm\u00f3 el primer caso de COVID-19 en el pa\u00eds centroamericano, y un d\u00eda despu\u00e9s, reportaron la primera v\u00edctima mortal del virus. Ante la velocidad de los contagios en las siguientes semanas, el Gobierno de Panam\u00e1 a trav\u00e9s del Ministerio de Salud (MINSA), lanz\u00f3 una plataforma con datos actualizados sobre la situaci\u00f3n del pa\u00eds (https:\/\/geosocial.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/opsdashboard\/index.html#\/2c6e932c690d467b85375af52b614472) en el cu\u00e1l se puede consultar la curva epid\u00e9mica del avance del COVID-19, los casos confirmados, las muertes y los pacientes recuperados. Adem\u00e1s de una serie de gr\u00e1ficos con informaci\u00f3n por grupos de edad y sexo. Tambi\u00e9n en esta plataforma se muestra un mapa donde se visualizan las localidades afectadas por el virus. Por otra parte, en un intento responsable por combatir la desinformaci\u00f3n en tiempos de COVID-19 el MINSA lanz\u00f3 el portal yomeinformopma.org, en el cual se detalla informaci\u00f3n sobre COVID-19, s\u00edntomas, m\u00e9todos de propagaci\u00f3n, medidas de prevenci\u00f3n y qu\u00e9 hacer en caso de enfermar. Adem\u00e1s, el MINSA habilit\u00f3 un chatbot en WhatsApp al que se puede acceder a trav\u00e9s del siguiente enlace: https:\/\/rosa.innovacion.gob.pa\/. \u00a0El chatbot denominado R.O.S.A. (Respuesta Operativa de Salud Autom\u00e1tica) realiza un tamizaje virtual e identifica posibles casos de contagio, informaci\u00f3n que env\u00eda al MINSA. Adem\u00e1s, responde dudas sobre la enfermedad y el virus SARS-CoV-2. Por otra parte, la respuesta del sector privado ante la pandemia en Panam\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n result\u00f3 positiva. La Embajada del Reino Unido en Panam\u00e1 en colaboraci\u00f3n con una farmac\u00e9utica, Huli y la Agencia Universitaria para la Gesti\u00f3n del Emprendimiento de la Universidad de Costa Rica (Auge-UCR), lanzaron una plataforma de consultas virtuales para continuar los tratamientos de pacientes que se han visto afectados por la pandemia.
